Yoga is a way of life, a lifestyle choice that can take many different paths. The benefits
that come into your life are so rewarding that once you begin
this path it is virtually impossible to change. Once the body becomes flexible it starts to release pent up emotions and starts to correct defects
in the posture. The body soon becomes more agile and lighter and a sense of well being and confidence takes over. Through her ongoing training, Annie aims to introduce you to the many paths and types of yoga she has experienced
in her 30 years of practice. Linda takes the Pilates classes on the Holistic
Weekends. These are fun classes, angled towards greater
body awareness and self healing, teaching the way to core strength and good posture. This season's
classes will include " Spirals", a group movement workout set to inspiring and motivating music, designed
to focus on both dynamic stretching and core stability challenge.
Both Annie & Linda
are constantly updating their knowledge and expertise through ongoing training. This year Annie has been studying
with Shiva Rae in India & Sharon Gannon & David Life, the founders of Jiva Mukti Yoga, in Sydney. Linda
has been furthering her extensive knowledge of Pilates with Michael King & Malcolm Muirhead in London,
and also with Nuala Coombes & Kathy Corey from California.

What
is Chi Yoga ?
The literal translation of ‘tai’ is big, or great, while ‘chi’ is translated as ultimate energy.
Tai Chi is therefore all about generating and feeling energy through movement, the ultimate energy that powers the universe
– everything from the greatest star right down to the smallest of microscopic creatures. Chi
Yoga shows you how to experience and discover this kind of energy for yourself. It teaches you how to perform a gentle yet
powerful dance-like sequence called a ‘form’ and combine it with yoga postures which are also designed to release
energy and keep the body supple yet strong. Chi Yoga channels the body’s energy
for greater strength and stamina. It helps to relieve muscle tension to increase flexibility and body mobility, shaping and
defining every major muscle group. It’s suitable for all ages and abilities. It becomes Moving Meditation.
Energetic Alignment
This workshop will teach you how to get the most from your yoga practice
by drawing your awareness to the vayus, or directions of energy, that govern the yoga postures, and teaching which muscles
and bandhas to activate to achieve a safe, positive practice. Suitable for everyone, whatever stage of your yoga journey
you are on.
Vinyasa yoga
Vinyasa yoga means a flowing asana practice where the poses are linked
together by the breath, eg Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation & Chandra Namaskar or Moon Salutation. In this dance-like
style the breath, and the lifeforce within the breath, become the impetus that moves us from asana to asana. Practising
this way can lead to a deeply blissful experience as body, breath and mind are integrated. This experience is available
to all as each posture can be modified to suit your body, fitness and level of experience.
Pilates
The Pilates Method represents a unique approach to exercise that develops great body awareness, improving and
changing the body's postural and alignment habits and increasing flexibility and ease of movement. Pilates builds great
core strength and tones the body by lengthening and firming all the muscles, therefore assisting the body to achieve
it's best possible shape. The exercises are particularily beneficial for those suffering back pain.
